Vattenfall sold less power in the first quarter. Ordinarily that would mean less revenue — except that CO2 pricing allowed it to charge more for the electricity sold. Ratepayers got ripped off since the CO2 reductions had no effect on anything. This scam is coming to a utility near you.

Emissions are never going down… as long as the economy is healthy and growing, anyway. Fossil fuels accounted for 80% of Americans’ energy use. Even so, Americans are actually 100% dependent on fossil fuels. Nuclear, hydro, wind and solar are NOT possible without coal, oil and gas.

More inconvenient truth reported by the German NGO Urgewald: “The World Bank’s active energy project finance significantly favors fossil fuels over renewable energy — $21 billion to $7 billion”… about 25% of which is coal. Emissions are never going down.
