CO2 tax

“Don’t give me the garbage that coal is killing people”

Three cheers for Montana coal guy Bob Gilbert who testified at a hearing before the Montana legislature against the Montana Climate Action Act, which would tack a $10 tax onto each ton carbon dioxide emitted from coal-fired plants. Sounds like Gilbert read Steve Milloy’s 2016 Amazon.com best-selling book “Scare Pollution: Why and How to fix the EPA,” which busted open the myth that emissions from coal plants killed people and set the agenda for reforming EPA under the Trump administration.

Holman Jenkins on a CO2 tax: “Let’s grow up”

Wall Street Journal editorial page write Holman Jenkins rubbishes the recent rentseeker-funded “prominent economist” call for a CO2 tax. Note also: “Corporations rush to fund the carbon-dividend campaign not because they believe the plan is actionable, but because CEOs and PR departments need something gaudy to point to in order to suggest their concern about climate.”

Collection of economist fossils urge carbon tax on fossil fuels

No one who knows anything about the climate debate and has a functioning brain supports a carbon tax. Even if you have fallen for the climate alarmist hoax, simple math shows a US carbon tax will accomplish Z-E-R-O. Whatever mojo Volker had in the 1980s is long gone. The three-headed Greenspan-Bernanke-Yellen monster, which never had any mojo to start with, combined to wreck the economy and irrevocably destroy (for the foreseeable future, anyway) the time value of money. Who could possibly care what they have to say? Note Exelon and ExxonMobil are behind this carbon tax nonsense. BURN MORE COAL has shareholder proposals sitting with both.
