Poland to build its largest coal plant

“Elektrownia Ostroleka, a company co-owned by energy giants Enea and Energa, has been awarded a 15-year contract to build and operate Ostroleka C, set to become Poland’s largest coal-fired power plant. The contract is worth 6.023 billion zloty (1.4 billion euros) in state capacity subsidies, with the plant expected to deliver 853 MW of energy by 2023.” The perfect coda to the recently concluded UN climate conference.
